QUESTION 1
Ozoombo area is located 150 km north-west of Opuwo in the Kunene region and is comprised of 15
villages. The area is rich in wildlife and forest resources, hence the community in this area is very
much keen on establishing a communal conservancy although they do not know of the procedures
to be followed.
1.1. As anewly appointed Warden under the Ministry of Environment and Tourism (MET) (10)
in Kunene region, Discuss the key steps that you would follow in establishing a
communal conservancy in Ozoombo area in line with the Guidelines for Management
of conservancies and Standard Operating Procedures for 2013. Note: Only focus on
the first three main steps.
